Mine still had four burners, three small and a large. The oven was big enough for one cookie sheet or one lasagna pan. If you aren’t much of a baker, this likely won’t bother you. The cabinets shown are IKEA AKURUM. It’s been discontinued, but as far as I can tell, the current cabinets come in all of the same sizes. One story Farmhouse plans typically feature sprawling floor plans with plenty of comfortable rooms for entertaining, dining and relaxing located in the center of the home. One-and-a half and two storied homes generally focus on main level living, perhaps with a master suite location while the secondary bedrooms and bonus space, if available, are situated on the top floor. Certainly, you didn’t find too many original Farmhouse designs that were situated on basement foundations but, as in all things, progress has made basements available in almost any home design.

Most of our stock plans come as 2x4 exterior wall construction by default. We do provide options to change the exterior wall type. A single-use license means that the plan can be built only once by the person who purchases the plan. An unlimited-build license is meant for pro builders that are planning to build the plan multiple times. Please note, some of our plans are designed with special foundation needs, such as post and pier for waterfront properties. These plans may not allow an option to choose another foundation type. If you find yourself in need of an alternate foundation and aren't given the choice, please fill out the alteration request on the plan page.

Occupying Level 2 is the master bedroom suite with walk-in closet. The master bath includes dual sinks, and a separate bathtub and shower. Nostalgic reminders of our rich agricultural heritage, barn homes continue to rise in popularity.

I learned the hard way about a kitchen plan with smaller than typical appliances. I had a hard time finding a fridge that was short enough to fit under the cabinet over my fridge at my log cabin. When that fridge went, I just took the top cabinet out so that I could use a taller fridge that held more.

Under the careful supervision of Hunt Hale Jones Architects, a nondescript 1950s-era shack was transformed into the picturesque farmhouse cottage we see today.
